May 23, 2011 I didn't make a diary type summary of this trip so I will have to compose it from a few years later. Lake Tahoe is the most beautiful place in the whole world so far as I have seen in my life time. We have an every other year time share there and do not exchange it to anywhere else in the world because that would be a trade down. This year our neighbors, David and Aida Escobar accompanied us. We have visited this area at different seasons each time on our every other year visit. We were a little surpised to find so much snow late in May. while everyone else was sleeping in late, I started this trip with an early morning hike from the back of the complex up the side of the mountain to get a view overlooking Carson Valley. Apparently the plants were impatient for spring also as they were trying to sprout amongst the snow piles. Slideshow When the rest of the cohorts awoke, we took a ride around Lake Tahoe with the normal stops and photo opportunities such at the overlook for Emerald Bay. Slideshow May 24, 2011 The next day was our big adventure for this trip. We drove to the Minden airport and took a glider ride over the lake. Next time we won't stop at McDonald's on the to an open air flight. The tow plane stayed attached for what seemed like an eternity. When it finally detached and left us floating on the updrafts, it was nice and quiet. Later you see some mountain and lake views. The plexiglass windows aren't the best for photographing. We did get a video of the trip and tee shirt. May 26, 2011 I think we took a break day for David and Aida to recover in the casino. The following day we did a boat ride on Lake Tahoe. Awesome views : Slideshow May 28, 2011 We spent an afternoon and night in Reno before catching our plane the next day. I am not sure what show we saw. I think that was the time we saw Ricky Scaggs in concert. So here some images on the last day in Tahoe and from the hotel in Reno. Slideshow
